Our Adoption Policy

PRICING: 

Our prices for babies will vary depending on quill coloring, patterns and rarity. *Black, dark brown and full mask hedgehogs as well as splitface and attractively marked pintos will be priced higher than our standard grays and chocolates. 

 

Prices for adults will be significantly lower than our babies.

 

*Quill coloring can not be guaranteed as some babies can change coloring as they go through quillings until fully mature.

WAITLIST:

​

By joining our waitlist you will be given priority as babies become available. People on the list are contacted in the order received. When babies are 3 to 4 weeks old, individual photos of the babies are sent out, and you can choose your hoglet and place a deposit at that time to reserve your baby until pickup day. There is no cost to join the waitlist.

 

*Joining the waitlist does not guarantee a baby as sometimes litters do not go as planned. If a baby isn’t available you will be placed on the list for the next upcoming litter. 

 

RESERVING A HEDGEHOG:

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to hold a baby hedgehog for you until it is fully weaned and ready to go home with you. The deposit will be credited towards the total purchase price, the balance would be due on pickup day. Our baby hedgehogs are weaned when they are at least 7 weeks old and weigh a minimum of 180 grams.

 

Deposits can be paid via Cash App, Venmo or PayPal. Sorry we do not accept personal checks. 

 

GOODIE BAG:

When you pick up your hedgehog you will be given a goodie bag containing our hedgehog care guide, starter bag of hedgehog kibble and hedgie toys. 

 

BREEDING NOT PERMITTED:

​

Our hedgehogs are being sold strictly as PETS ONLY and are NOT to be used for breeding purposes.

 

RETURNS:

​

Huggyboots Hedgehogs will always welcome back any of our adults or babies if you can no longer care for them. We love our hedgies and want them to have the absolute best lives possible! Refunds are not given, but the hedgehogs will be placed into suitable loving homes.

HEALTH GUARANTEE:

​

All hedgehogs bred by Huggyboots Hedgehogs come with a 6 month guarantee against any congenital defects. A Necropsy Report by a licensed veterinarian, stating cause of death is due to congenital defects must be provided to Huggyboots Hedgehogs before a replacement will be provided.

 

Huggyboots Hedgehogs also offers a Lifetime Guarantee against Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome (WHS). Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome has an unknown etiology, the cause of WHS is unknown.**A necropsy from a licensed veterinarian is required to confirm a diagnosis of WHS upon death. Should your hedgehog's necropsy prove positive for WHS, the original purchase price will be applied to another hedgehog of your choice.

 

All Health Guaranties are invalid, if the sick or deceased hedgehog shows signs of neglect, abuse or poor nutrition.
